Hello, and Welcome to DivorceCare!

We have a brand new curriculum for you this year, (a fourth edition of the program) and for the first time, we are beginning our group online, rather than in person, to abide by provincial guidelines.

Normally, our first night, ‘Registration Night’, involves getting a copy of the DivorceCare Participant’s Guide/workbook, along with filling out a registration form, and signing our group guidelines, before beginning the meeting.

Since, on our first night, we can’t be together in person, it means that we’re unable to get those things done, before we begin on Monday, January 11, 2021. To give you time to complete the registration process and provide you with the program materials, we’ve arranged for you to be able to do so at the Lakeshore St. Andrews’ church office, beginning on Monday, January 4, 2021.

After registering online, which guarantees your place in the group, you’ll be able to call the church to schedule a time to stop by – or you can choose to just drop by during business hours – to complete the registration process.

At that time, you’ll be asked to pay the $25 registration fee, fill out a participant’s registration form (that will provide us with a little more information about your separation or divorce, in order to help us help you), read the group guidelines, and sign them; an indication you understand that the group discussions are to remain confidential. When you leave the church office, you’ll have your own copy of the Participant’s Guide/workbook, along with a copy of the group guidelines, for your own records.

Lakeshore St. Andrews’ Church (LSA) office hours are:
Monday, January 4, 2021 – Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 9am – 4pm
Friday, January 8, 2021 from 9am – 1pm

The registration fee can be paid using cash, debit, or credit, and, if you’re registering from outside of the area, you can contact the church to arrange payment over the phone or through e-transfer.

(If the church hours of operation absolutely don’t work with your schedule, we may be able to make other arrangements; perhaps have you pick up a workbook and complete the paperwork at one of the group facilitator’s homes, outside of church business hours, or mail the participant’s guide to your home, if you’re not from the area, and email you the forms to complete and return before January 11th. Before each weekly Monday meeting, you will receive an email from one of your facilitators containing a link to join the group, using Google Meet. If you don't have previous experience with Google Meet, you will find that it operates similarly to other video platforms that have become crucial to so many of us throughout the pandemic.

Note: We’ve had to make adjustments to the information in this listing in the past, and may have to do so again. As long as you are registered online for our upcoming group at www.divorcecare.org/my and have provided an email address and phone number, we will be able to reach you if anything changes before our start date.

*For returning group members: Normally, after paying the registration fee, the first time you take part in a 13-session group, you are encouraged to come back a second or even a third time, and it’s free of charge. Unfortunately for those of you returning for another cycle in 2021, (but also fortunately, for everyone) we have a brand new, completely reworked curriculum, version 4.0, with entirely new videos and a workbook that are not at all compatible with the old videos and participant’s guide. Your registration fee includes the cost of the workbook, which you’ll need throughout the new DivorceCare program. (Thank you, in advance, for your understanding.)
